About the event

Schools have a legal obligation to protect transgender children, but while some are standing with trans students, other institutions are unaware of best practices or are unwilling to follow them. Trans students are protected from discrimination, guaranteed equal access to education, and have a right to accommodations if they're experiencing mental health challenges or have a qualifying disability. There are many vehicles to advocate for a safe and healthy environment for trans teens, from 504 plans that require teachers to respect a child's pronouns to litigation challenging discrimination. This webinar will cover legal protections, school plans, and resources for trans teens and their advocates.
